Let's cast on fun Halloween sweaters! Grab your copy of the Let's Boo-gie sweater pattern here.

Yardage is listed as both full skeins of the original Amy March DK and by total yardage. A Dk weight yarn with good elasticity is recommended for best fit. For a more affordable yarn I recommend Reborn Recycled Wool.

Yardage for Original Colors (shown above):

MC: Comet, CC1 / Orange: Blood Orange, CC2 / Yellow: Butter, CC3 / Black Coffee, CC4 / Pink: Dusty Rose

Yarn requirements listed as BOTH yardage & number of skeins (to simplify purchasing Amy March DK to match samples). You only need the yardage required. For example, 560 yards = 2 skeins of Amy March DK. Add 2 skeins of Amy March DK for a total of 560 yards.

Yardage & number of skeins are listed for all colors.

Weaving In Ends

There's no way around it - colorwork generates so many ends! When possible, I've started weaving in ends as I go. It's nearly invisible and saves a lot of work at the end of the project.

Very Pink Weave In Ends As You Go Tutorial via YouTube

There are some times when weaving in as you go isn't ideal as it creates distortion on the front side of the work. Instead, weave in those ends using a tapestry needle after the knitting is complete.

The Reborn Recycled Wool colors are a little bit muted compared to the brightness of the Amy March Dk of the original sweater.

Hi Katie,
The icord cast on video was great. I just can’t figure out how to join in the round after getting all stitches on! I’ve tried a couple times and there is just a big gap. Is there a special way to join?

Hi Karen –
The two smallest sizes which are intended to be cross-over sizes for tweens may fit a child as young as 10 years. This pattern won’t work for smaller children’s sizing as the body ratios of adults is different than in children. A child’s pattern is in the works sizes 3 months through 10 years but hasn’t been published, yet.

Are you going to be selling half skeins for the black purl version? Love that color scheme but not having half skein options is rough.

— Heather

Would any of the smaller sizes fix children? This would make a great matching parent/child project! Also wondering if I can purchase pattern separately. Just love this pattern!

Hi Eva –
I do ship to Spain! International orders of $200 ship free & I also offer US Postal Service, DHL, and UPS international options if your order falls under the free shipping amount. There’s no additional surcharge on international orders – you’ll pay the shipping rate for the carrier of your choice.

Hi Jayda –
Sweater quantities of yarn will be coming! Because of the huge range of sizes for this pattern, I’ll be selling full skeins and half skeins in the original colors. The yardage requirements are written to the nearest half skein (2 oz. / 140 yards) to help simplify purchasing.

Right now I have full skein quantities available in all the original colors MC – Comet, CC1 -Blood Orange, CC2 – Butter, CC3 – Black Coffee all linked above in the post. Dusty Rose will be available in 10 yard mini-skeins later this week, along with half skeins of the above colors also within the week.

Hello! Are you shipping to Spain? I love the sweater and would love to knit it with the original yarns. Thank you.

— Eva

Will you have the original colors/kits in Amy March dk available for the sweater?

— Jayda Abell

Hi Luci –
Very soon you’ll be able to purchase the sweater pattern. As of 8/9, we’re just finishing up testing and it’s due to be published in 2 weeks.

If you’d like to practice your colorwork skills, I have this design as a published hat pattern. It requires less yarn & is a great option if you love the ghosts but aren’t quite ready for a sweater. You’ll find the hat pattern right here: https://www.yarnloveyarn.com/products/boo-yah-ghost-hat-digital-knitting-pattern

Is it possible to buy just the pattern for Let’s Boogie Sweater? I’m not good enough yet to knit this but would like to in the future, but dont have room to store the yarn till then.

Thanks,
Luci
